Queen Anne Doll Challenge...

Yes, i am starting another doll challenge, a Queen Anne Inspired type doll, should be quit a challenge and oh so different from Izannah Walker dolls. For the eyes on my Queen Anne I used old hat pins w/ black glass, because i didnt have the correct size of bead, It actually worked very well...i think, so far so good! Wish me luck as i am off to paint her!!!!!!! Many Happy Dolling Days to all of you!!!

In the second pic she has her face on, and i still need to do some touch ups here and there, but for the most part...she 'd ready to get a hair do!
Third pic, i am trying to choose the fabric, i have some really great old tapestry fabric but its just too thick for a teeny skirt...No she's not a prom goer from the 50's wearing elbow length evening gloves, but thats what comes to my mind right off! Even this fabric is possibly too bulky, as iy makes her outer bustier  top stick out...ah whats a girls to do? HMMM?...
...She changes her skirt!!!!!!!!!! I like this one much better!!!!!!!

Don't worry about the bodice sticking out. If you look at the Queen Anne dolls on the old pretenders site (there are some great profile views) you see that their chest come forward quite a bit. That was intentional as the point of the style of corset women wore during that period had the effect of pushing the breasts up to the top of the stays creating a mound of cleavage and then flattening and slimming the front and back of the torso and giving a sense of a small waist. In fact some of the corsets even had a slot for a wooden busk (a v-shaped wooden board) inserted into the front of the corset to stiffen and flatten the front of the body. I think your second skirt is a improvement in terms of color and fabric texture. I love her face and the beauty patches are great.
