Pleats, pin tucks or growth plate?

I am putting pin tucks on the bodice of my doll dress, but had chosen to machine sew them instead of hand stitch them. I also chose to reverse them, not sure what its called, but would think it would be called a growth plate of some sort? Top photo, doesnt she look like a bride from the old pictures? I think so.
Hope everyone is doing well, and are happy that summer is almost over,
 Many Hugs,
 Jackie

I don't know what those are called but I have heard of them as reverse pin tuck. I have two tops with these kinds of tucks on the bodice right now.

Nice touch on a doll dress!

I do think those kinds of tucks were good for "letting out" just like hems were.

Hope your summer is going well, too. It has been SO hot!

Hugs to you,

Helen

Wow great work! I am just finishing my first doll and I have to say the clothes were a bigger challenge than the doll was for me!
Whew those itty bitty outfits....and I had stained the dress for a vintage look and then dried it so naturally it had to be ironed a bit, (I need one of those teeny irons)!
I admired anyone who has been there and come out the other end a success!
Have a wonderful weekend....

Helen,
Yes i am thinking its what is called a growth plate but cant be sure. Soon Fall will be upon us Helen, and the the chilly winter bleek!!!!! : D
Tina,
so glad to hear you are working on your doll still...me too, even though i dont 'feel' like it. I dont like dresses, i didlike making close, love making dolls, but neeked little ones, are cute for just about a second. I have a little neighbor boy , who thinks its funny to pee on his mom and dads mail box...we call him 'the streak'... It was cute...the first time...sorta.
Have a great weekend!

Wow! She's incredible! I also love the tucks you are making on your dresses.

I can't wait for some cooler weather, it has been hot and steamy here in South Florida. Hope you're doing well.

I came over to see what you had new and was not disappointed.I love the pin tucks and the lace on the under skirt.Of course I love the doll.
Glad you stopped over and left a comment at my blog. The fabric on the black doll is from a vintage feed/flour sack.
