Jewelry on dolls...?

Lately, i have had this obsession with old jewelry. I try to match a doll with an older piece of jewelry,  with limited funds it hard to get the really old stuff, but this is what i chose for this big Izzy doll. Just a simple old locket,on a string. I had thought about putting a picture of her in it? Not sure yet, tho.  Does anyone else do this with their dolls?
 Many Hugs,

Just a quick pic
 Jackie

I dyed this doll dress, not sure i'm liking it.... Will give another try, i thought since Hemp is a natural fabric that it would take to the dye really well, for some reason, its not!!!!!!!!!

Very nice!
A tiny portrait of a baby doll would be sweet in it.

Your Izannah style doll looks so sweet with the locket on.

I have a Grandma doll that has a tiny string of pearls and I'm looking for a tiny cameo for her. So yes, you are not alone. :o)

I love doll jewelry! I have an old china head with a necklace made of funny flower shaped beads. I think they're made of some sort of paste material. Older tiny glass beads are sweet too. I love the locket on your doll! It's a great look and it will be fun for the buyer to see what's inside...

The locket looks lovely on your Izzy doll. I haven't tried using jewelry on my dolls—I've just made necklaces with tiny beads for them—but I'll have to watch out for fitting jewelry pieces for them when I search the flea markets and sales!

What a sweet idea! As Elaine said, it will be fun for the buyer to see what's inside. This big doll must have been so much work, but she has turned out beautifully!

The locket is a lovely addition to your beautiful doll Jackie. I had another thought as I was reading this...I have found tiny pins, originally used for pinning lingerie to clothing. I believe this was popular during the "flapper" era and into the 40s. Something like that might appeal to you too. :)Thanks for sharing Jackie!

Rhonda

Some teddy bear artists use antique and vintage jewelry on their bears, as well as old hats, purses, and baby shoes and clothing.

Jackie the dolls look like there is alot and time and effort put into them do you hand sign each and every one of your dolls? The Witch door hang hanger would be great to scare unwanted people away. Great idea dressing them in jewelry, it adds to the doll, and the style.

Love the doll in yellow. It does feel special when you can add that timeless something to each doll, even a bit of old lace.

So happy to join your blog as a follower!
